Had to tell you girls, we had an afternoon at the local bowls club. What fun, for $2 a head (sometimes its free) we all went including the little ones, who were quite a handfull with the tempting bowls! and had a great afternoon. All you could eat for $8 a head to have lunch and then the ladies and men tell you how to play and you go for it, there was 30 of us for a birthday and after our bowling went back into the club for coffee and birthday cake. It is something you probably wouldn't think of doing but is a very cheap and fun way to fill in a Sunday, so maybe there's food for thought.

Have had another family weekend MIL came down from hastings and we tookher out to dinner last night with the MG car club. Today we have spent the day with our two sons, their partners and kids and have had a family party for our little grand daughter who turns one tomorrow. It was really great having everyone together and watching the little ones interacting with each other. Can't believe she is one already it's been such a full on year for me what with all this bc cr*p. Really looking forward to being able to do more with her this year.

Go all the parties!

cherub i have a mental picture of you perched on a sofa (recumbent of course), book in hand and mother cat by your side - sounds like a wonderful afternoon's entertainment.

Belinda hope you and the girls all had a great time - i used to love ten pin bowling but i haven't been able to hold the balls since a repetitive strain injury in 1983. :crybaby: Good on you keeping your promise, i would have forgotten about it by now.

GG :hugs:

Dropped the relos off at the Camberwell Market then home to do a bit of housework...market only 5 minutes from us.
They were filming "The Collectors" at the market so that was interesting. Not that anyone here watches it as we're all on Friday Chat..lol

Can't believe its still raining in NSW!!

You're really in party mood Belinda..10 pin bowling parties are great. All the kids seem to enjoy them. I think having 3 kids I have had every type of party...clowns and magicians at home, pool parties, 10 pin bowling, fairy, roller skating, pirate, sleepovers etc, etc!!

Got a day off work tomorrow so am having another long weekend!

Hello lovelys
having a relaxing weekend this time no floods
lots of rain though
decided to finish a book I have been working on for about 18months
it is about a holiday I had with the kids in 2005
we went all the way to darwin and across to whitsundays and home via the coast
was lovely
found a book writting program online
and just about finished
will upload it this week and they will print it out for us and send it here for about $60 each copy
BUT my pc is having kittens and running real slow
driving me mad
so its taking longer than I thought
but good fun
love

How're you enjoying having your sister around jezza? Hope you're getting to spend lots of good time together. I like these weekend threads!

Just got back from going tenpin bowling - what a hoot! DD wanted to make a good time of it - she insisted on lots of cheering and clapping - so much fun! Have booked her belated 5th birthday party there for 1 July - her birthday was a couple of weeks after my diagnosis in Jan, so we were in no shape for a party with her friends (which was going to be at the local pool - brrr - too cold now), and promised her we'd do something when I was feeling better after chemo - so a bowling party it is! It's going to seem wierd for the other parents - think I will just put a note in with the invites to explain - most know, anyway.

How's everyone's weekend going so far?

I agree about Docklands nav....huge buildings and no ppl.

I thought that maybe as it was such a cold day nobody was about.

There was def. no buzz about the place. We had a friend living there and he had to tie down the outdoor furniture on balcony as it was so windy.Probably change soon cos if they fill all those apartments there will be a pretty big population there. Chanel 7 is there and Chanel 9 is rumoured to move there.

Big party sounds like just the way to go this year Belinda!!

Gail - that's exactly what I am thinking. I have had so many emails over the past few months, and replied to lots personally and via a couple of mass email updates - now I have the perfect party invite list!!!! And to be able to celebrate birthday, end of chemo and say thank you all of the people that have sent me loving thoughts and more during this ordeal seems to be the way to go. I could wait till after rads, but my birthday would be gone and over...not as much to part about!

Would have loved to do that, have a big party to celebrate. If you can Belinda, go for it it will be fabulous. I thought I would be doing a similar thing but it didn't happen with me splitting from my partner. I wanted to do something to thank everyone for looking after me so well and now I feel the time has passed. O'h well, maybe later on with a different theme. :P

Jezza went to Docklands recently and yes wow its amazing, but it was like a ghost town! big open spaces, wide streets
we didn't see many ppl there at all.

Gail its always disappointing when your looking foward to a night with a bit of fun and you end
up with music like that. Hope tomorrow is fun sounds like it will be heaps.

Belinda you deserve a party :v_happy:

Geez Gail...sounds like my nightmare. Being married to a musician I know the look he would have had on his face! lol..

Just back from the Casino and a tour of Melbourne.. Lunch at Southgate and then off to Docklands, St. Kilda, Port Melbourne...great day.

Its amazing seeing all those new developments at Docklands.

nav....I'm glad those kids party days are over for me. we always had big ones and they were exhausting!

Went to a wedding last night. Beautiful setting, overlooking the bay with all the yaghts moored. Funny how something can spoil a wonderful occasion. The dj was hopeless, music during dinner far too quiet and uninteresting and when it needed to pep up to get the crowd going was still this boring quiet music. One speaker out, did not say a word, I left when the bridesmaid was singing Karaoke into the mike, maybe if she could sing! What a shame, I would have refused to pay him, but of course the bride and groom were oblivious to all this. Today son is sick so a day at home. Tomorrow neices birthday and we are doing barefoot bowls and lunch which should be great, my family is so much fun when we are all together. Have a great weekend girls whatever you do
