Hi Rosa,
Nice to see you on the forum. Yes Judy is still in hospital I believe from Facebook. I'm sure she will update us here when she gets a chance.

I'm glad you are in a big hospital for this Judy - smaller regionals would not have the facilities. You must be feeling so bad at present - wish I could hug you and tell you its ok. Those tests tomorrow will be daunting and I hope you get results quickly and not be kept waiting for ages. Ive been thinking of you today and wondering so thx for letting us know.

I have been admitted to the Royal Melbourne hospital. I have had blood transfusions and tomorrow i am having a bone marrow biopsy which will tell us whether it is (aml) leukemia or something else i cant remember the name of. Both cancer and bother caused by chemo making tge prognosis worse. Treatment will start asap and i have a feeling i will be feeling very sick in a few days. I will keep you informed

Re: Anemia on Femara
Judy would you not be better off going to a major city hospital? Perhaps getting immediate care is the goal but bigger hospital should be able to do better testing?

Re: Anemia on Femara
Thank you girls. I have spoken to someone at Bairnsdale hospital and we have been advised to go straight there. I may be admitted for further testing so I'll keep you all in the loop. At the very least I think I am looking at a transfusion and a bone marrow biopsy, something I have always dreaded.

omg Judy I feel for you soooo much - cant imagine what you are going through facing all this and the thought of test waiting etc. Its simply not fair that you get over the extremes and sort life out and have some peace and now all this. I am sending fingerscrossed hugs - please make sure you get the immediate care you need.

Yes white cells are a different story. Try not to think the worst. They seem very much on the ball.
I can understand how you feel about cancer, after what you've been through. Hoping for the best, please keep us updated.

Re: Anemia on Femara
Forget about my question. I just had a call from the pathologist, yes the pathologist, she bypassed the doctor because she was so concerned about me. Apparently my white blood cells are extremely low, low like when you are having chemo and she is concerned that I might get an infection and not get to hospital in time. She didn't like that I had to wait until Sunday to get to see a doctor. She wants them to send me to hospital for tests, ie stay overnight at least and the first test would be a bone marrow biopsy. Yes, she's concerned it could be leukemia caused by prior chemotherapies. I am so over all of this and the thought of doing chemo again for the third time makes me sick to my stomach. I looked up AML leukemia and the treatment is chemotherapy and radiotherapy to the head. 26% survival rate after 5 years! My oncologists are surprised that I am still here after the aggressive form of uterine cancer that I had and then this comes along to ruin the day. What are the chances of surviving two high risk cancers? OK, yes I know, I may not have leukemia but this pathologist sure is concerned. No more googling for me, I shall wait and see what pans out.

Re: Anemia on Femara
Hi Judy,
I take it your haemoglobin is low. Have you ever had a colonoscopy? Often they will do one for low hb.
I'm anaemic but not too badly. Try not to panic, my Dr contacted me to come in and when I saw my hb level it wasn't particularly low for me.
Needless to say do the suggested and please let us know how you go.
I love the photos of your new country relocation, it looks gorgeous.
