Mastectomy Hospital Stay Time

Kj, me too! It's unbelievable that they can go home so soon.

I had quite a bit of pain after my mastectomy. It really hurt to move and I don't think anyone believed me. But when the drains came out, all the pain disappeared. It was such a relief. Must have been pressing on a nerve or something.

i had my surgery at night and i woke up the next day walked to the loo and threw up from the morphine there is no way i couldve gone home..

Jezza I was reading that yesterday and was left thinking about it for hours. I remember having my husband take
me to the loo early the following morning, he had to follw me wheeling my morphine machine, my IV wheelie, whilst I carried my 2 drains. How could you go home same day I just dont get it over there.

the MEN we still have to worry about!!

I have a funny 'drain' story to share with you. My husband freaks out at anything medical, dental or invasive in any way. My surgeon allowed me to stay in hospital until my drains came out so we wouldn't have to be fixing a cracked skull or concusion on my husband fainting in the bathroom at the site of drains hooked up to the shower taps. Wasn't she considerate?
