Please let us know how you went. You can ask anything here and vent without upsetting or worrying loved ones.
To repeat what Judy said, BC is not a death sentence. I am 8 years past the stage you are at now. We have all been in your shoes waiting and wondering. We understand :hugs:

Hi Lou, waiting is the worst bit and I can see that your mind is just whirring around, it is the pits, we've all been there and done that. You will have your results soon enough but please remember that if it is cancer it's not an immediate death sentence, many people have treatment and then move on so try and just take it as it comes. I know that's easier said than done but in some strange way I felt more at peace once I had the results and was given a course of action. Good luck with your results and remember we are all here to listen to and support you regardless.

Lou,
Hoping everything goes well for you tomorrow. I know it must be a worrying time. Medicos including radiologists etc., have their own protocols when it comes to reporting results. Maybe its standard procedure at the facility you attended, to show biopsies to an oncologist for review as standard procedure.
Will be thinking of you and sending good vibes your way. Please let us know how you get on.
Hugs,
Mo xxx

We all know how stressful you must be feeling right now. It really is the pits. Lets hope that you get some answers tomorrow.

I know sometimes they get several people to review test results before a diagnosis is made. This has happened to me (with xrays...not biopsy) but it was upsetting and confusing and it actually turned out ok.

I can understand you not sharing with friends as you don't know what's going on yet .

Please let us know how you go.

hugs

 hi Lou,welcome to the forum, waiting for results really is the worst time,we will all agree with that. Coming up to 5 years for me I went to my gp because I came across a lump on the side of my left breast that seemed to have appeared all of a sudden,my gp sent me off for a mammo then I had to wait for results then was sent for ultra sound and more waiting then was sent for biopsy and more waiting,my doctor said she was certain it was cancer but had to go through all the tests,I wish it was all done in one day because I was so stressed. I hope your results are all clear :hugs:
Please let us know, hopefully you have some idea after tomorrow
Rosa

Hi Lou - no wonder you are stressed to the max!! The waiting for results is just awful and we all complain about it. When I was diagnosed it was on the spot with the mammogram showing up the lump as white on the screen so I was told then and there I had breast cancer. The core biopsy was done that day and it was to show the grade and type of cancer. I also had a ct scan on my nodes under armpit to see if they could see anything there. Which Dr are you seeing tomorrow? Is it GP or Oncologist or?? I had my initial tests done in a breast specialist clinic so I think that's why I was told immediately - I have family history of the disease. Perhaps if you have had the tests done at a radiology place then its not their place to tell you but send the report with the test results to your Dr. I really hope you have nothing to worry about - please let us know. :xfingers:

Biopsy results / standard procedure

Postby Lou11 » Tue Feb 07, 2017 4:20 pm

Hi ,

Just a quick rundown

Tuesday go in for lump in right breast thinking it will be another abscess but nope next minute there are 4 lumps in breast and one in armpit so things escalated very quickly . I turn up Friday morning for mammogram followed by biopsy both core and fine needle . the first thing I notice is my result are being sent to the oncologist ummm hello is this standard or is it their way of confirming breast cancer without telling the patient? .

So now its just waiting on results I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but they have no idea if core biopsy results will be back so why am I even going ? the stress of this is crazy and not what I was expecting ,I am 42 and a mum to 7 ranging from 3 to 21 .

Sorry I just needed to get it out as I haven't shared this with my friends as I dont know what to say to them .

Thanks for reading and please feel free to tell me where you think this is going

Lou
