Re: Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)
Such great news. I was devastated to think you might be going through another cancer diagnosis.

Re: Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)
Thanks Janette I did get good news! There was no sign of inflammatory breast cancer on the biopsy, ultrasound or mammogram. The nodes in my right axilla we already knew were cancerous from the left chest wall tumour. So they think because they are not working effectively the cellulitis is slow to resolve, also they think some of the swelling is from lymphoedema again because those nodes aren't draining properly. I was seen by an infectious disease specialist and he has started me on a new course of antibiotics so hopefully the infection will clear up soon.

Re: Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)
I have recently been in hospital for a week with cellulitis of my unaffected breast and I had to have antibiotics for 3 weeks at home. It still hasn't resolved so on Friday I had a mammogram ultrasound and punch biopsy. The doctor was concerned that is inflammatory breast cancer. I feel like I couldn't be so unlucky to have a new primary. I get the results on Friday so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Re: Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)
I had left breast cellulitis earlier this year Struth for no apparent reason. Maybe I scratched a small pimply dot. Good that you got on to it quickly.
My joints were stiff after Taxotere. I have found that doing Pilates with all the stretching helps enormously as does any exercise.

Re: Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)
Hi again,
The neurologist upped my Lyrica and has referred me for a whole spine MRI....
He did tests and said I have peripheral neuropathy. And I have to see a vestibular physio. ! So that will be interesting..
In the meanwhile something else has happened.. I was feeling crappy Sunday and woke up Monday with a pink left breast around to under my armpit, and very painful. So off I go to the gp who promptly wrote a script for antibiotics for cellulitis, and rang my breast surgeon! He said if it wasn't getting better by Wednesday to go down for a review. It was starting to look a little better but my gp still got me in.
The cause? A punch biopsy 3 wks previously for suspected bcc just below my collarbone, but it was in the radiation field so set off cellulitis! I had no idea that could happen, so in future I have to have antibiotics prophylactically ! And need to have the bcc excised.
Anyone else had this??
