I know you were pleased to see the end of 2015 and looks like 2016 is going to be a good year...

A big weight off your mind with good results...I'm so happy to read that. You must be over the moon. Hope work is still going ok too.

Hi all, just thought I would pop on and let you all know that I got the results of my post treatment PET scan today. All is good and there is no evidence of disease :v_happy:

I am very happy and very relieved to say the least. It was an aggressive cancer and there is still a good chance that it will return but as it stands at the moment I am back to quarterly check ups which alternate between my radio oncologist and my gyn/oncologist. I can live with that. Add that in to my six monthly alternating appointments with my BC medical oncologist and my breast surgeon it's only six cancer specialist appointments a year plus a mammogram and ultrasound :pmsl: In another two years they should reduce down to four a year. If all goes to plan I should be finished seeing all cancer specialists by 2020. What a decade.

:thanks: to everyone here for your wonderful support through a really bad year.

I got in before all the others in Finance on Monday so took the opportunity to go around and say hi to everyone that was there so that they wouldn't interrupt us later and that worked well. Yes this week is meant to be a training week as we had a new system put in a couple of months before I had my hysterectomy and they have changed some processes etc. I think I am good at my job but apparently my 'new' boss doesn't think so and as he doesn't then my 'old' boss who should know better doesn't any more either. Too difficult to explain really and I don't want to go into great detail in here anyway. My self esteem is incredibly low at the moment but over the past three days I have realised that it's all coming back to me and my work load will be a lot less as I won't be doing payroll any more. The new system makes processing a bit more time consuming but I am guessing it makes up in other ways. Once I am used to it all will be good I am sure. I am actually enjoying being back at work although four days a week would be much nicer. My trouble is walking to the train station and back, my feet are killing me. That too I guess will get easier.

So...who has been filling in for you while you've been on sick leave? Ideally that person is there for the handover. I imagine there were lots of interruptions as well... everyone asking how you were and explaining work catchup stuff. So don't be too hard on yourself. I can only imagine how tired you have been these past couple of days.

Hang in there...I have a feeling that you are very good at your job! Naturally it will take time to get right back into it.

Hugs

not what you need Judy but as you say it can be done if it has to be - please don't wreck yourself doing it though. Glad you got through the day - you must have been sooo happy to get home.

Well I made it through the first day. I am amazed at how bad I am lol. I am so slow........ I know it will get better but I feel like such a moron. There is an amazing amount of paperwork with that job and I am a bit concerned that I will be going back after a break and there will be a backlog of stuff to do and I will struggle to get it back on track. Oh well, I am sure I will be fine, I have done it before and can do it again.

Oh...tomorrow?? That doesn't sound like fun! It will be hard to go back after what you've been through. I hope the "not very nice" man behaves. So when you say a week, if that's every day it's going to be very tiring.

Love to catch up in the new year.

Take care and let us know how work goes if you're not too tired to post!

Judy, I'm sure that's quite a daunting prospect - I do hope this is under much better circumstances than what you endured some months ago. The stress you were under is certainly not good for your problems. I do hope you can work something out that suits you and less hours too.

Hi Jezza, I go back to work tomorrow but just for a week for 'training'. Then I go back mid January. No, I'm not looking forward to it although don't mind the idea of doing some work, just wish it was part time and not under the circumstances that I will be under. I am still very tired but my hair has started growing back and I am looking forward to moving on. There will be lots of follow up appointments but I guess that's all par for the course. Thanks for asking. We need to have a get together some time in the New Year.

When do you go back to work Judy? Gosh I bet you're not looking forward to that! How's the recovery going? I do see you on facebook quite a bit but I know it's not the place to share a lot of medical details...lol

Anyway I hope things are looking up for you. You've had such a tough year.
