Hello! You can go to your GP and ask them to do some blood tests for you. Typically, they look at a few different hormonal markers - estrogen & progestorone, along with the hormonal precursors to those. These one called FSH that is typically higher once the ovaries have stopped producing eggs. There is also another one (whose name I don't recall) that fertility specialists look at to determine what sort of egg reserves a woman still has. If this is too complex for your GP or you're not satisfied that they're giving you the right answers, you're well within your rights to ask for a referral to see a fertility specialist. Hi, In March 2010 I had a lumpectomy to remove a high grade breast cancer followed by 4 rounds of chemo (taxotere x cyclophosphamide ) and 20 rounds of radiation. I am now on tamoxifen and have just finished zoladex injections. I am 34 years old and did not get the opportunity to have fertility options before my treatment. I am wondering if there is anyway of telling if I am still fertile? My periods stopped during chemo and I only stopped the zoladex last month and my periods haven't returned yet. Any help or advice would be great, I would really love to have another child!
