Indeed Lesley, - yes - there's Chinese heritage in my family, centred around Bendigo, which is where my Mum's family is basically from.

Thanks everyone. It was a very sad funeral, and I feel so very very sad for Clive and their four boys (all grown up), and their kids. While very sad, I was glad to have gone, and to have been able to be there. It's dreadful that we all see each other at funerals, so a couple of my cousins and I are going to organise a family athering perhaps next year sometime, and an email list to all keep in touch. Bx

Belinda your aunt sounds a most remarkable woman. Her legacy through her needlework will bring pleasure and delight to many in the coming years.

I hope you and your family are comforted in some small measure that her life was a life well lived.

RIP Joyce.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. It's a very sad passing for our family. This woman was an exceptionally kind and gentle person, and was a master craftswoman, and has had her nedlework hung in some very special places, and even designed and managed and produced the replacement of all of the curtains at Government House in Canberra a few years back. And she was a kind and gentle person as well. I might start another thread so we can move messages there. I didn't mean to take over our calling Adelaide girls thread. Bx :hugs:
