hi Jo,I agree with Janette you need to tell your surgeon nothing worse worrying about the pain and why especially your ribs.....Rosa
Re: Rib pain after tissue expander surgery
When I had expanders inserted after mastectomy it felt like I had an underwire bra with razor blades instead of underwire. Have you had your ribs checked at all? Certainly I would mention it to the surgeon.

Rib pain after tissue expander surgery
Hi all
I have had my ruptured silicone implants replaced with tissue expanders 4 weeks ago and would like to know if anyone has had rib pain following surgery. I have had pain in my lower left rib cage following my first implant surgery almost 10 years ago but learnt to live with it because I could not get an answer from my surgeon as to what was causing get it. After my recent surgery (with a new surgeon) it is still there and more painful than before. I have not asked my new surgeon about it as I always forget as I get very nervous when I get my tissue expanders filled. I hope that this is a common problem after surgery but worried it will not go away.
Thanks Jo
