ACTIVE AND WELL AFTER BREAST CANCER: A FREE INFORMATION DAY

Postby BCNA » Wed Mar 04, 2015 11:43 am

Women from Bendigo and surrounding areas are invited to attend Breast Cancer Network Australia’s (BCNA) free Active and Well information day on Thursday 19 March 2015 in Bendigo.

This pilot initiative has been developed for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer from the Goldfields region of Victoria. The information day will provide women with high quality information and support to improve their health and wellbeing during and after treatment for breast cancer.

Women will hear from health and wellbeing experts about the benefits of physical activity and healthy eating and learn simple tips to adopt healthy habits that last a lifetime. Women will also attend a series of workshops to develop a tailored health and wellbeing plan they can take home and put into action.

The information day will include a marketplace where women will have the opportunity to sign up to a range of local health and wellbeing services available in the community. This includes the YMCA Pinkmoves 12-week gentle exercise program, Heart Foundation Walking Groups, YWCA Encore, Dragons Abreast and many other services.

The marketplace will showcase programs and services for women living in the following areas: Stawell, Ararat, Creswick, Ballarat, Kerang, Echuca, Seymour, Kilmore, Woodend, Kyneton, Castlemaine and Wallan.
