Hello
I am sorry you are still suffering pain. It may also be worth researching Complex a Regional Pain Syndrome. It usually effects limb extremities such as hands, feet but can be triggered by surgery. It’s neuropathic pan so does not respond to pain killers.
Hoping the pain eases soon.

Re: Postmastectomy Pain Syndrome?
Hi Helsinperth,
I can't say Ive heard of symptoms as you describe that I can remember.
I do think you need to follow it up through a breast clinic, or a lymphodema clinic. At least seek advice from your breast cancer specialist. Also you have a great resource in WA in Breast Cancer Care of WA. Im assuming from your Username you're in WA.
Good luck I hope you get some answers.

Postmastectomy Pain Syndrome?
Hi
Its just over two years since my full mastectomy and full lymph node clearance surgery on my right side and consequently some lymphoma in my right arm. I also experienced major issues with sarcoma after surgery which took 5 weeks of draining to sort and then I had to follow up with 6 weeks of radiation treatment.
I am trying to find out if anyone else is, or has experienced what I am going through lately. And if it is a possibility that I have this syndrome that I came across in researching this pain.
The rib pain has never really gone away after surgery but I could live with it. Ditto with the feeling of fullness and fluid around that area and in the armpit up into the arm. But in the past few months it’s been getting worse. By back used to only be sore now and then, but it’s now constant. The rib area and that whole side is very painful all the time now to the point taking deep breaths hurt. What I am feeling pretty much fits with a description on a cancer support website - burning, tingling, pins and needles, stabbing, constricting, or a constant dull ache in the breast, armpit, or both.
Nothing seems to help. I have avoided strong pain killers such as opioids derivatives as they make me ill.
Is there anyone out there familiar with this, and if so have you found any one or anything that can help?
Thanks.
