thanks schoolteacher,mum has been coping well with the chemo,they will do more tests to see if there has been any change because they don't know what type of cancer they are dealing with.
Your right Jannet sometimes the primary is never found,I think it's because the body fight it off but has already infected another part of the body,a spread.

I believe some primary tumours are never identified. If they believe the liver is a secondary? I hope your Mum does well with the treatment. I imagine you have a very close and supportive family.

thanks Jezza yes it's been a huge shock,mum is built tough emotionally so coping well so far,first chemo today and feeling good so far.
I cannot seem to find much info on liver cancer,but they are still looking for a primary or where it's come from which is very worrying

So sorry Rosa....so hard on the family having to deal with it all again. I know you will be a huge support to her but tough with the chemo etc. It will bring it all back to you. I hope she tolerates chemo well. Poor dad as well! It really is such a shock as we all know and a frightening time, especially when you are first diagnosed.

thank you Judy, they will start chemo tomorrow,they will do more tests after a few chemo sessions,they are still looking for a primary cancer but have not found anything
Mum came to most of my chemo sessions,who would of thought she would of had to go through it now

I'm so sorry to hear that Rosa. I hope she does very well with her treatment.

A close friend has pancreatic cancer and it is an awful shock when a well person is all of a sudden a cancer patient and particularly a very nasty one.

Rosa I am so sorry to hear this terrible news - its just everywhere this damn disease. Here's hoping the chemo will be effective and quickly. I don't know much about liver cancer but I have read and heard that treatment is targeted and much better these days. Let us know how she goes. I hope the family rallies together to help and it doesn't fall to you to be carer.

hi ladies,I just wanted to share that my mum was diagnosed with liver cancer,she has had some pains so after lots of tests and biopsy they found 2 spots on the liver,they have checked that it's a primary and it looks to be,she will start chemo next week,any type of cancer is bad,she was in shock not thinking she would have such a diagnosis,mum is 73,and healthy other wise.
