Was going to go to the movies today but couldn't see anything we fancied watching..SO..off to the video shop..always fun cos between the two of us we find it hard to settle on something.

Decided to walk down.then decided to walk to shops in the other direction to buy some bread...almost two hours of walking later am enjoying a good sit down and a coffee. Didn't have my pedometer on either!

Anyone seen any good movies lately...they seem to be all on at the same time. We haven't been for ages.

I just got home from work - hey - work isn't too bad after chemo with dex going thru the veins! DH is heating up leftover pasta from last night, and pan-frying some yummy swiss brown mushrooms. I'll prob make a green salad to go with it, and we have some leftover smoked salmon from having poached eggs and smoked salmon on toast for the the other night. Typical eat-what-is-easy Friday night. Yummm....

Hope you now have a glass of something in your hand Jezza! :champers:

This weekend my son and his partner and the little ones are coming over for a barbecue - actually the blokes can cook outside and I will cook something inside. Although we are getting lovely sunny days, the winds are cold at the moment so I don't think eating out will be an option. OK I need some help here. I am making a potato bake but what else can I do? Please bear in mind that my cooking skills are ... pathetic I think is the word I was looking for so stick to the KISS principle. My potato bake recipe is alright but if someone has a doozy could they share that too? Thank you

OMG I feel like I'm not getting any side effects really from Tamoxifen but I am the same gg. I live in a 2 story home and I literally have to pull myself up the stairs with the railing and my hands. I have to sit to put my undies on and when I have been sitting or lying down it takes quite a while for me to be able to move properly I sort of limp shuffle. Now I don't know if this is just still after effects of chemo because I had a lot of problems with taxol, ( I still have numb toes) finished that in January or my weight or tamoxifen or just everything combined. I feel and walk like an old lady and when I go to swimming exercise classes I can hardly get out of the pool, and its a bit sad when some ladies are in their 70's and walk better than me. I will discuss with onc but my appt is not till end of July. Also perhaps the colder weather plays havoc because my hands are very painfull and my left hip which I have never had a problem with. Oh well as I said it probably is the combination of everything and now I am suffering because of my lack of exercise and diet prior to bc.

Gail my onc took me off tamoxifen after 9 months. i put on a 11 kilos in that time and along with palpatations it turned me into a cripple. i could hardly walk from a sitting position. once i got going it eased a bit, though i had no stamina and everything ached. i think it was seeing me like this that made the onc. sorry for me - anyway this is something you need to discuss with your specialists. my DCIS was low grade and therefore i wasn't in a high risk of a recorrunce. but i hated it, i had to take Fosamax whilst on tamoxifen and my hair really thinned out a lot. i got nearly every side effect listed. the onc who put me on it in the first place saide that all the side effects would stop when i stopped taking it. that was not true for me. it took me 15 weeks to lose the weight and the aches and pains had to be managed differently.

everyone is different, i hope you don't have to suffer anything like the side effects i did.

GG :hugs:
Onward and Upward

Thanks Belinda
I'm going to see my onc this thursday and see what she recomends, personally I would like to have
a blood test to see where my hormones are at.
I really was'nt doing too bad on them but the cramps just kept getting more intense and then last
week started bleeding, it was'nt a period , it was different and once i stopped them the bleeding stopped as well.
I read that sometimes going off tamoxifen for a few weeks can help with side affects but not sure in my case, also had
heart palpatations but did'nt make the connection until the girls in chat mentioned something a few weeks ago.
Anyway I hope you have a better run with tamoxifen then I did Gail, the thing what really upsets me is you try to
do everything by the book but then there a hiccups along the way.
I will let you girls know what the outcome is on Thursday :hugs:
