I thought I would let you all know I have had a good response to ABT 199. Most of my tumours have shrunk by 30%, the tumour on my chest wall is stable as is the pleural mets. My tumour markers have been decreasing as well. The first 3 months have been hard but I seemed to have turned the corner regarding side effects and feeling really unwell. My son is at home for 3 months on paternity leave so I am having a lovely time with him and my grand babies. Life is good at the moment!

I have just finished my 4th cycle of Ibrance. The first 2 cycles I felt very unwell but side effects have definitely decreased and this cycle I have felt good. I had scans after the 3 rd cycle that showed the large met on T5 had decreased with signs of healing bone and all other mets stable. For the first three cycles my tumour markers continued to increase but they dropped dramatically at the end of the 3rd cycle which was a huge relief as tumour markers have always been very accurate for me. My oncologists wanted to try a new treatment in light of the increasing tumour markers but I am glad I talked him into another month!

I have also become a grandmother for a second time. My other son has a beautiful baby girl who is 4 weeks old so lots of good news in the last month.
