Re: Forum Milestone

Well said Jeanette. It is such a shame the forum is so quiet these days. Great news if it means less women needing support or being diagnosed of course.

Re: Postmastectomy Pain Syndrome?

Hello
I am sorry you are still suffering pain. It may also be worth researching Complex a Regional Pain Syndrome. It usually effects limb extremities such as hands, feet but can be triggered by surgery. It’s neuropathic pan so does not respond to pain killers.
Hoping the pain eases soon.

Re: Just diagnosed

Hi Molly
Hopefully you have had your surgery and no where you are at in regards to any further treatment.
It is a turbulent, scary time but there is hope for the future. I am heading up to 11years post diagnosis. BC was my 50th birthday present. Please let us know how you are.

Re: Cancer sucks

Pete’s brother passed away this morning with his family around him, including Pete. Much quicker than they expected which is a blessing for Keith. Such a cruel, undignified way to go.

My husband is in the UK because his brother is dying from small cell lung cancer that has spread to his brain. 5tumours and really I’ll before any medics were aware. They can’t do anything for him now he’s been told. O...

Re: Superficial Lump

Hi TimTam I’m sorry you haven’t had any replies. I haven’t logged in for some time and the forum must have been very quiet while I was away. No doctor can tell if a lump is cancerous or not by looks alone. A biopsy is the only way to know for sure. I hope this was checked out by the breast surgeon w...

Re: Nipple reconstruction

Hello
I had so many complications with my Tram Flap reconstructions: skin grafts, breast reduction on other side to even up, over 6 months, that I decided not to bother with the nipple reconstruction. I only notice it when naked.

Re: Mastectomy with immediate reconstruction ?

A few big decisions to make. Firstly, the type of recon you choose. I had a Tram Flap recon 3 years after mastectomy. Having single mastectomy meant that , being over 50, an implant would not have matched my other breast. It was a huge surgery to have just one done. Talk to your plastic surgeon abou...

Hi Suzanne Thank you for popping in and letting us know how you and Sam are. Christine was such a loss to us all but to you, her closest family, she must have left a huge hole. I was fortunate to share a few lunches with Christine in Melbourne and met up with her at our Adelaide gathering also. She ...

Re: My sister has been diagnosed with DCIS Breast cancer

Hi Beebee This is such a scary time for all the family. It is a journey, with unexpected twists and turns. The treatment changes as more information via testing is obtained. If cancer cells were found in lymph nodes they will hit it hard because of concern that the cancer has spread outside the brea...
