Hey

Hey All, Just an update as I haven’t posted since before October. I finished chemo October 25th. My hair is growing back. I refer to it as a “Persian rug” on my head as it feels like one. Trying to rock the short hair look and have dyed it dark brown as not all of my old hair fell out which was dark...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

Hi Judy, Ugh how annoying it seems to have been for you too. 4 times I meant 4 cycles of this; Carbo/taxol one week, then the next week taxol, then the week after taxol. No break in between. I was just told this yesterday but the week prior I was told only 3 cycles of that. I have the piece of paper...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

Thanks Judy, I’ll definirely keep it in mind if I have pain. I’m really upset today. They found blood clots in my arm so I’m now on a daily anticoagulant. They also want to put in a port because they can no longer use that arm or the arm on the side of my breast cancer because of the risk of lymphod...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

Hey guys! Just an update as I haven’t been on for a while. I’ve finished my A and C chemo. I did scalp cooling. Now onto paclitaxol and carboplatin, 1 down, 8 more to go. (Only 3 of the combined, the rest are paclitaxol on its own). I couldn’t tolerate the scalp cooling any more as I had anticipator...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

I haven’t had this metallic taste but they did tell me I could get that. Smells have been very distinct too! Strange!! A colleague at work said she had cravings during chemo too

Re: Advice for breast reconstruction BRCA2 positive

Hi Mel I’m 30, found out early March I had breast cancer. I’m a BRCA1 gene carrier and found out I had that gene 3 years ago after my Mum had breast cancer. I have undergone a double mastectomy with immediate tissue expanders. I also had my nipples removed and will be reconstructing them. The worst ...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

Hey, Sorry I’ve been very tired. I was in hospital for a week and relieved to go home! I have both drain tubes in and hospital in the home visiting daily. I had a leaking drain tube which they had to come back to fix. Both tubes seem to be blocking and unblocking. They are so annoying! I just want t...

Re: BRCA1, tumour found - 30 years old

I also have pain and a lump in my lower head. They think it’s nothing to worry about and think it’s from me laying down in surgery for so long. Anyone else have this? Initially it was numb around it too.

I also have pain in my throat from the endotrachael tube they put down my throat.
