Re: Looking for possible treatments

Andrea have you been on Faslodex? It works differently to the Ai’s. It is an intramuscular injection given initially fortnightly for the first 2 doses then monthly. The other combo I have been is Afinitor and Aromasin I had very few side effects on A/A. Again I did have the mutation that Afinitor ta...

Re: Looking for possible treatments

Hi Andrea, Do you have a lymph node or tumour that is easily accessible? Prior to starting the trial at Peter Mac I had a tumour on my mastectomy sutureline biopsied to confirm my ER/ PR status and to test if I had the mutation the drug was targeting. The trial I was on was ABT 199 I think it is sti...

Update Tracey

I thought I would give my old friends here an update. I recently became very ill. My cancer has spread to both my lungs and to the pericardium around my heart. My oncologist was monitoring me closely but I unexpectedly got very sick very quickly. I ended up having 2 litre drained from my left lungs ...

Re: Looking for possible treatments

Andrea I am her2 negative as far as I know. I recently had surgery and my oestrogen and progesterone have changed from positive to negative. I don’t think her 2 changes to positive as often as ER/ PR loses its sensitivity. So I am assuming I am triple negative now. Cancer is sneaky the way it mutate...

Re: Looking for possible treatments

Hi Andrea sorry you have progression. Have you thought about clinical trials? I am not sure where you live but I have also accessed Palboclicib on a compassionate access program through Peter Mac in Melbourne. I also did a clinical trial at Peter Mac. Wishing you all the best with your treatment and...

Re: WEEKEND & EVERYDAY CATCHUPS

Christine I don't have lepto mets and I can't navigate this forum. Every time I change the settings they revert back. Within a topic all the responses are jumbled. I used to check every day and post often now I find it too frustrating.

Hello to everyone!

Re: Exercise

Mighty Oak if you commit to the 30 minutes 5 times a week it will get easier. Five years ago I decided I wanted to lose weight so I actually went to a hypnotist. I have never worked out whether the hypnosis worked or the fact that my husband thought it was a waste of money and I was determined not t...

Re: reading posts

Jeanette I have had the same problem so I started sorting by last month of posts. However now the posts within a topic are jumbled. I must admit since this change to the forum I don't come to the forum very often as it is difficult to navigate.

Re: Update Tracey

Well my run with the trial drug Abt199 has come to an end as the tumour on my chest has increased by 30% and now broken through the skin. I also have a few more bone mets and my pleural effusion has increased slightly. I was on 600 mg daily and the trial has now been opened up at a higher dose. To b...

Re: Post Poison, Slash and Burn

Mighty Oak it is good to have most of your treatment behind you. I have had similar side effects from all the aromatase inhibitors. I have experienced hot flushes and sore stiff joints. In the morning or after sitting for awhile I hobble around like an old lady but once I get going I am fine. There ...

Re: so, a bit of stuff happening...

Winterlong you have definately had a trying time lately. I think for peace of mind ct scans and a bone scan are a good idea. It is hard going for scans but when they come back all clear it will be well worth it. Best wishes.
