Re: New Melbourne Get Together 2017

Hi lovely ladies,
I would be delighted to join you for your get together. Thanks so much for thinking of me. It's been a wild 6 months that's why I've been missing in action. Will fill you in when I see you all or you can pm me. I can't wait to meet you.

Hugs,

Re: Finished Rads Today ! Tamoxifen ??

Jane, Well done Jane, you made it! The weeping blisters are a nuisance but heal quickly. I had 25 sessions and it was with the last few sessions that my skin broke down a little even though I had been applying sorbolene three times a day. The nurse gave me solugel to coat my burns and blisters and n...

Re: Forum v FB

Hear, hear, ladies!!
This site was invaluable to me during my travels along the bc road. I don't have, nor want, Facebook but I do despair at the amount of traffic we generate on this forum. Not too many new posters, but I believe there are lots of people who do read the posts.
Hugs, Mo xxx

Checking in!

Hi ladies, Sorry I have been missing lately; not been well. Hope you are all doing as well as can be. The weather in Melbourne has certainly turned cold hasn't it? If I had nips they'd be sticking out for sure  I'm sitting here with my little chihuahua curled up on my knee stroking her silky f...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Jane, Just popped on to wish you all the best tomorrow. Like anything, the first step is the hardest. Once surgery is done you will be on the treatment path......that is a good thing! Far from showing your weakness to hubby tomorrow, I think you will be showing great strength by going it alone! You ...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Hi Jane, How devastating for you to be dealing with this. You're so right, it is unfair. All of us who have been through a bc diagnosis know that the waiting is the hardest thing to deal with. You have got yourself all geared up, mentally and physically only to have the rug pulled out from under you...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Hi Jane, Why do things always seem so bad in the middle of the night? I guess it's because there are no distractions from our internal monologue. No tv, no kids squabbling, no dog wanting to be fed etc., etc., etc., just us alone with our fears. I found that listening to sleep apps or hypnosis apps ...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Jane, My heart hurt when I read your last post. It's an amazing bond mothers have with their children; the need to protect them from harm, is incredible. About ten years ago my daughter had surgery for a tumour (benign), and I was beside myself with worry, much more than with my own illness last yea...

Re: Help

Just sending you a hug, Rosa. Things like this just start to get you down after a while, don't they? Take care, Mo xxx P.s. The government scheme is actually a gp care plan which allows selected patients upto 5 free sessions with allied health professionals eg., physios, dietitians, podiatrists, etc...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Jane, Don't be so hard on yourself. Most people have 'no idea' what's happening in the beginning, but you will quickly become accustomed to all the terminology. I know what you mean about not wanting to acknowledge the presence of the lump. We are wired to expect threats to our health and safety fro...

Re: Newbie here and to cancer

Hi Jane, Just want to wish you good luck on your journey. The waiting is always the hardest part. Waiting for diagnosis, waiting for scans, waiting for test results, waiting for surgery etc., etc., etc. March 30 will be here before you know it and then you'll have a handle on what you're dealing wit...

Re: A new chapter

Nicochick, Glad that your appointment went well. A surgeon you trust and can communicate with is key. You sound as though you are weighing options and doing research so you can make informed choices. Cancer is the pits, so anything you can do to prevent it is fantastic. If you have any other questio...

Re: A new chapter

Welcome to the forum nicochick, Good on you for taking the bull by the horns and seeing a breast surgeon. I take it that you will be discussing preventative mastectomies and ovary removal with your doctor? I had a double mastectomy after 6 months of chemo followed by radiation. I have to say that th...

Re: Help

Hi Rosa,
So sorry to hear that you've been unwell and hoping you are getting better as each day passes. I imagine vertigo would be an awful thing to deal with.
Gentle hugs to you Rosa,

Re: Biopsy results / standard procedure

Lou, Hoping everything goes well for you tomorrow. I know it must be a worrying time. Medicos including radiologists etc., have their own protocols when it comes to reporting results. Maybe its standard procedure at the facility you attended, to show biopsies to an oncologist for review as standard ...
