Re: Re excision after lumpectomy- what to expect

Hi Buffy, Ive had many breast surgeries since I was diagnosed and one was for unclear margins - it really isn't anything to be concerned about - easy surgery and prob just a day procedure depending on the positioning of the clearance required. You have managed the lumpectomy well so this wont be too...

Re: Satellite nodules and clear margins

are you in a country/rural area or a city? Makes a difference with treatment and expertise. I think its jts better to get out any tumour and surrounding tissue - do the pathology and see results which will tell margin clearance or not as well. In the meantime you can look at starting chemo which wil...

Re: Satellite nodules and clear margins

Re: Hi

Hi Rosa so good to hear from you - I can relate to that nighttime fatigue - me too!! I am usually in bed really early these days. Very sad news of Judy passing away - she was a lovely and generous person on this forum and helped me a lot back in those early days of dx. Hope you are otherwise ok. Ruth

Re: Just diagnosed

well right on a significant birthday - I can relate to that - my diagnosis was the week before my 60th and people just didn't know what to do - I decided just to cancel the birthday because for me I couldn't celebrate. I hope you can at least do something. You have got to this problem early and so y...

Re: Just diagnosed

Hi Molly I was where you are now 6 years ago so I understand the fear and uncertainty you are going through right now. Low grade ductal carcinoma is very treatable - I had high grade ductal as well as a tumour in one breast - grade 3 - luckily no nodes involved. You need to see an Oncologist to find...

Re: Cancer sucks

Chris and Janette,
hope you are both ok. I agree with you - seems to be everywhere. Chris sorry to hear of your BIL - I think we are fortunate to have the treatment we do here compared to others - especially US.

Re: Lynch’s Syndrome and Breast Cancer link

Hi Bk - sorry to know of your family problem with this damn disease. You ask a question that is impossible to answer as we are mere mortals and not medically qualified and also don't have your films to see so the question of should you be worried is one which isn't really answerable. I would say tha...

Re: Mastectomy with immediate reconstruction ?

Hi Jo - I think you need to consider a few things here - I had dble mastectomy and immediate recon with implants. I decided on mastectomy because my age at dx was 60 and my mother had died of BC at 52 so because of family history I decided to get them off - so no radiation, no more mammograms and le...

Re: Rare Side Effects

Judy nice to see you posting - as Jeanette said -you've been through way too much and still ongoing!! I remember well being told about the risk of another cancer after chemo - of course at the time that seems like almost nothing - focus is to beat the one existing but now when the other arrives its ...

Hi Suzanne - its good to hear from family and to know everyone is doing ok. I lost my mother to BC in my twenties and its a terribly difficult time. Well done Sam for making good decisions for yourself - hope you enjoy your nannying job and study will be there when you're ready to return to it. Good...

Re: Things That u would have liked to have available during your treatmemt

chemo is a lengthy process and confronting - it would have been really nice to have wifi available so an ipad or laptop could be used to watch a movie as distraction. All I had were very old overused magazines to get through several hours of infusion. Also, the other thing I really hated were the he...
