Re: Your mental health journey with cancer?

Hello Belles.

May I suggest you provide a few more references so that we get some understanding of where your research is going. It is important that we know who will be seeing what responses are made and who will benefit from the research.

Thanks

Re: oh heck

Hi Janette and Jan,

Jumping on the bandwagon here... I am back on chemo for tumours in my liver that have taken on a life of their own! Now dealing with low platelets and possible revision of chemo plan due to that. Cancers really are the gifts that keep on giving.

Re: Support for supporters

Hi Keely I think it would be appropriate if you gave more information about yourself. Basically who is the "we" who is doing the research? Sorry to be so blunt but you would understand that people undergoing cancer treatments, and their carers, can be quite vulnerable, so I think it is imp...

Re: still miss seeing that little black cat profile pic chrismelb

Hi Suzanne I first met Christine via the forum and then in person at the first Melbourne gettogether and at lunch later in that week when she invited Lorraine (NZ) and I to meet again. She was an amazing woman and I enjoyed her company enormously. Her strength and dignity were an inspiration to me a...

No, I won't speculate either. My only suggestion is that you have someone with you as it is often very difficult to remember all you are told. Please do stay in touch.

Re: Inoperable triple negative breast cancer

What a devastating outcome. I suspect you may be in a pretty bleak place at the moment but I will say that there have been many women who have been in your situation and most have had some good years, albeit with chemo and other treatments. This will take some processing and my suggestion is, when y...

Re: Learning to live with Metastatic B C

Hi Jezza, yep, still a Farm Heroes addict! I go to Sydney every two months. A nurse comes every two weeks to give me the injection. I have just had two lumps excised from the back of my neck. One is definitely a tumour related to the Neuroendocrine cancer, the other is probably a cyst, harmless but ...

Re: Learning to live with Metastatic B C

Thanks Ruth, I am currently have another treatment as well at RNSH called Lutate which is a radionuclide infusion in conjunction with oral chemo. I am now having the injections fortnightly because the mets are in my skull, scalp and also breast. It is not breast cancer though. Seriously bizarre! We ...

Re: Learning to live with Metastatic B C

This is a brilliant article and one to which I really relate also, despite my mets developing from Neuroendocrine cancer. It is somewhat bizarre that the treatments for the cancer make me sicker than the cancer itself. But, hey, I look so well!

Re: Just diagnosed and freaking out.

I think, when a diagnosis of cancer is made, it is hard to stop yourself imagining the absolute worst. It is hard, also, to distinguish what can be attributed to the cancer and what is possible to be what is called co-morbidity, in other words, other conditions that occur because of something else. ...

Re: Sore mouth from chemo - ice therapy?

I did not have ice therapy such as you describe. My medicos advised regular rinsing of the mouth with bicarb and water. I can't really remember the ratio but a heaped spoonful per 250ml sounds about right. I do hope you find some relief. Sometimes the side effects of treatment are quite problematic ...

Re: Chemotherapy

Hi,

Please, this is a question you should be discussing with your oncologist. Just remember that because something is on the internet doesn't make it so.

Best wishes

Re: Update Tracey

Dear Tracey May you enjoy your beautiful new granddaughter this Christmas and watching her achieve her little milestones. I do hope you can get some support as you deal with all the forms that can seem neverending. Perhaps a social worker or the Cancer Council can be of assistance to you. My thought...
